Our Story

Michael was born in Canton, Ohio and 3 years later Kayle was born in Massillon. They grew up and both attended Central Catholic High School, and that's where they met-in choir and drama. However, Michael was a super funny, super talented senior (or so Kayle perceived him) and Kayle was just a little, loud, annoying freshman (as everyone perceived her) so they didn't spend much time together. Years passed and Michael went to college, and Kayle moved to New York City to attend conservatory and act. After her first year of conservatory she met up with Central's drama trip to NYC, which Michael was chaperoning. And this put them back on each other's radar. A month or so later, they randomly got into a conversation over facebook chat, and ended up talking for 3 hours! They found that they really enjoyed talking to each other. So, a couple days later (July 2, 2009), when Kayle was having a bad day, Michael messaged her with his number, telling her he was there to talk if she needed. And she really had liked talking to him, so she texted him. And he offered to go hang out for the day, to cheer her up. They saw a movie (Public Enemies), ate some lunch (Michael was impressed by Kayle's love for cheeseburgers), and went to meet up with Kayle's friend Angela to see the fireworks in McKinley Park. That's where they both began to notice some sparks. By the end of the night, the day had turned into a date. The next day they officially became a couple, and the day after that Michael told Kayle he loved her-and she loved him back.

The Proposal...

Fast forward 2 years of long distance (Kayle in NYC, Michael finishing school in Ohio), then 2 years together in New York (with endless days of snuggles and TV and delicious food made by Kayle and eaten by Michael...and Kayle)....

December 3, 2013: Kayle was having a Christmas day in the city with her cousin, Emily (who was in cahoots with Michael the whole time), and Kayle was getting impatient, waiting to get proposed to. She started out the day fairly certain today could be the day but by the time she got home, she was convinced it was not gonna happen. Then she entered the house and saw a single red rose, resting on some petals. Attached to the rose was a note, and going up the stairs to the apartment were several more roses with notes which, combined, told their story like a fairytale. When Kayle opened the door to the apartment she was greeted with a flurry of rose petals falling on her head. The front room was full of vases of roses and rose petals strewn about and Michael, standing there looking adorably nervous. He came over and took her hand and gave her a kiss. He turned on the fan, causing more petals to float down, and told Kayle how happy she makes him and how much he loves her. Then he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Kayle said an excited "Yes!" and immediately put the ring on (forgetting, in her glee, that she was supposed to let him do so).

And now we are SO excited to begin the next chapter of our story!
